Grapes and Figs: Charming 19th Century Hand-painted Faience Plate with Scalloped Edge seaweed pattern with more newspaper on reverseMy guess is that this is 19th century French, decorated with hand painted grapes and figs, though it's got a particular sort of folkiness about it that feels a bit more English or Dutch to me. (I'm also noticing a nice rhyme between the handling of the green leaves on this and the beaded sprigs on the Seneca pin cushion I've also listed today.) Whatever the case, it feels wonderfully warm and harvest time festive to me, perfect for hanging on the wall
