Nicely Crafted, Old Metal Grasshopper (Japanese Okimono?) carved wooden box seems to me like oneIt seems to me likely that this grasshopper is Japanese, made in the tradition of "Okimono" insects crafted by makers of Samurai armour and given as tokens of good luck. (One photo example included very similarly crafted to this one.)
