Excellent Antique Make Do Ladle with Hall & Elton Spoon Handle folk art hanger ) This is an earlyA beautifully concise antique example of "make do," this is a mid 19th century Hall & Elton spoon handle that was wed (riveted) long ago to a large, shallow round bowl (looks to me like the piece was cut from a tin can then soldered to "tin" it) to make a ladle. Excellent. And useful still, though I'd be inclined to rest it on a couple of nails on the wall. Hall & Elton of Geneva, NY (distinct from Hall Elton Co of Wallingford, CT) operated just from
