Sadly, Selvalas card-drawing effect is symmetrical, so it effects all players in a Commander pod, but as long as your deck is crafted correctly, you should be the one reaping most if not all of the benefits of casting some hulking bruisers after heavily ramping mana with your myriad Elves

And to the design teams credit, these were not generically powerful effects that worked in every Orzhov or Izzet good stuff deck

I like the group hug strategy overall, but one problem is that your deck often draws into more group hug pieces without actually getting ahead
