Some decks do a prowess-style approach, pumping and protecting a few creatures that get swole, which works well with a greater than usual number of control cards in those decks
Being able to wipe the board for a single mana is an incredible thing, so its easy to see why you should have a few copies of this card in your collection

There are cards that reflect specific moments, such as Aerith Gainsborough giving her +1/+1 counters to other Legendary Creatures when she dies, or Zodiark requiring all players to sacrifice half their non-God creatures, buffing it in the process, as happened before the events of Final Fantasy 14
