There are way more than just the original 10 guildgates now, so options are plentiful, and there are tons of good land tutors available like Circuitous Route, Scapeshift, and Crop Rotation

The fact that this combo is pulled off by the interaction between a lotus artifact (which are very prominent in East Asian and Japanese Buddhist art and symbology), a moonfolk from Kamigawa (a plane directly based on Japan), and the legendary creature that represents the patron spirit of all moonfolk

Promos are a great addition to any TCG collection, and including them in TCG Pocket was a smart way to incorporate this aspect of collecting into the game

It's just a good way to get as much mana out as we can during the combat phase, while hopefully keeping some mana sources open for your second main phase
