Paying two extra mana to get the "gotcha" Thragtusk from your sideboard just isn't usually worth it in a format like Legacy
Its a natural fit for aristocrats-style builds, where cards like Grave Pact or Dictate of Erebos keep opponents sacrificing while Venom turns the fallout into both size and value
While you can just win with creature beatdowns while controlling the game, there is a real threat of drawing TOO many cards
One downside is that you have no control over their actions, as each one could very well attack you with 1 big or flying Creature, and discipline themselves to casting 1 spell only
