Swiping two good cards (the third and fourth best in the deck) makes for good card draw, assuming you have the colors to cast opposing spells

If you are mostly tokens and enchantments then Mother is poor while if you have all the Blood Artist dudes or the prowess token generators Mother will be yet another must kill cheap dork and will absolutely steal some games

The sideboard is pretty standard fare for Grixis, with the exception of the second Temur Battle Rage and the Stubborn Denial

The value was just too good

I love that this card uses the format in an ever-so-gently fourth wall breaking way
