The box itself was carved from one piece of wood carefully hollowed out my favorite sort. And this this perfectly fitting, smoothly sliding lid, with diamond extending at one end just above the finger pull recess, and beautiful, to my eye rather Arts and Crafts feeling carved in details. 19th century American I believe, and just perfect. 6 3 8" x 2" x 1 5 8" t. Beautiful condition, beautiful patina, lid fits
